7-aam Arivu Vs Velayudham – Is the competition healthy?

7-aam Arivu Vs Velayudham

The biggest Diwali release films of Kollywood - A. R. Murugadoss’ “7-aam Arivu” and Jeyam Raja’s “Velayudham” are facing lots of comments and comparisons in almost all social networks and many of the websites nowadays.

The two popular heroes Surya and Vijay are well known friends from their college days and have acted some hit films together. But, is the competition prevailing now - good? News Chips likes to discuss about the core of this competition.

Some articles say that the former movie had overtaken the latter one and some other articles register just in the opposite manner. Even hot discussions/fights are going on between the fans of the two actors in Facebook, Google+ etc. Surya fans constantly criticize Velayudham’s scenes and on the other end, Vijay fans condemn the enormous publicity made months before the release of the film, the over expectation developed for the movie and the flattering speeches about the artists and the technicians involved in the film  7th sense.

In spite of the real challenge, it’s been greatly ignited by the political background involved in the movies. The two major political parties of Tamil Nadu are influencing the success of their films a lot. Hence the supporters of the opposite parties are showing the part of their revenge on the famous heroes today. There was a fight between the fans of Vijay and Ajith ruling Kollywood so far, but recently its now between Vijay and Surya. Now the real question arises - Is this the political fight or the fight between the skills? Naturally, politics plays a major role. This political influence has ultimately affected the true reviews of the pictures, the performance review of the actors and the technical aspects involved in it. Hence it has led to the confusion whether to trust these reviews. It has also greatly affected the individual revenue too.

As it is well known that the strong competition between the major political parties are existing for years, it has protruded in all fields, especially in fields which majorly attracts the mass, and of course, in which the revenue is also abundant.

Competition between talents is really a matter to be encouraged, but we have to think –
Is the competition healthier?

The Amber Fort, Jaipur, Rajasthan

The Amber Fort, Jaipur, Rajasthan

One of the important must-see tourist spot of Rajasthan is the Amber Fort, located at about 11 kilometers from Jaipur. The Fort is the perfect blend of Hindu and Mughal architectural styles. The magnificent fort was built in the 16th century by Raja Man Singh. The amazing feature of the fort is the awesome mirror and stone works in the interior of the fort. It is designed as such that it accurately reflects every streak of light, so that the place is perfectly illuminated.

The high comfort rooms designed and decorated separately for the King, Queen and the other royal officials, the pleasing gardens, the splendid staircase, the elegant wall-paintings, the sophisticated carvings in the walls and ceilings are some of the admirable aspects of the ancient fort. Another most distinct feature is the well planned hygienic drainage system and the comfortable lavatories, equivalent to today’s modern lavatories depicts the brilliance of the architects. The beauty of the big walls around the vast fort is not less than the interior beauty of the palace.

The fort is a fantastic pack of Indian ancient architecture. The place attracts lots of foreign and domestic tourists and is proves to be important tourist place in India.

Forgotten traditional games

Forgotten traditional games
The stunning difference between the games played in the previous and present generation clearly shows that we have almost forgotten most of our valuable traditional games. People play lot of interesting, mind provoking indoor and outdoor games in those days. But nowadays, the well known outdoor games are Cricket, Tennis and Football. On the contrary, indoor games have faced a drastic change. Almost all kids stick to their computers, laptops, iPads or PS3s playing variety of virtual games. Games of our tradition such as Kabaddi, Ghilli, Kho-kho, Goli, Aadu-puli aattam, Pallanguzhi, Paramapatham, Chathurangam etc are never played in these days.

For example, Kabaddi World Cup 2011 have been inaugurated in Punjab and its taking place now. But, there is a question that how many are aware of this wonderful World Cup. The game was found and developed in India. It is the national game of many of the South Asian countries. In spite of it, the game has not gained much popularity and is never been played frequently by today’s modern youngsters. Some other sports have dominated and have just washed the minds of present day youth.

We wish many such native games must be encouraged in schools and colleges to build a stronger future with the essence of precious tradition.

Fatehpur Sikri, the town of Victory

The Buland Darwaza - Fatehpur Sikri entrance

One of the famous Indian heritage site located about 40 km west of Agra is the historical city - Fatehpur Sikri.  Also called as the Victory Town, it was planned and built with utmost care by the Mughal emperor, Akbar in 16th century. The city was the Mughal Capital for about 12 years. It is built in honour of the Saint Shaikh Salim Chisti, who blessed Akbar with a child.

Some of the finest places worth to be visited in the magnificent city are the Diwan-i-Am (Hall of Audience), the Buland Darwaza (Gate of magnificence), the Tomb of Salim Chisti, the Mariam-uz-Zamani’s Palace, the Panch Mahal, the Diwan-i-Khas (Hall of Private Audience), the Pachisi Court, the Char Chaman Tank, the Jama Masjid (one of the largest mosques in India), the Turkish Sultana’s House, the Agra Gate, the Ankh-Michauli (Blind-man’s Buff house), the  Jodh Bai’s Palace, the Hathi Pol (Elephant Gate), the Naubat Khana (Drum House), the Nangina Masjid and many more.

The complex buildings, extreme planning, well-built infrastructure are really the most admirable aspects of the ancient city. News Chips salutes the efficient architects, great designers and the peak efforts put forth by each and every individual involved in it for providing us such a wonderful archaeological place ever to be treasured.

Indian super celebrities jump into the Racing tracks

Indian super celebrities jump into the Racing tracks

The IPL fire spreads to the racing tracks of India. The magnificent success of the Airtel Formula One Grand Prix and the enormous response for the Indian Premier League in India over the past few years has lead to the emergence of the new racing championship in India – the i1 Super Series.

The eight-team super series (Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Hyderabad and Pune) is mainly promoted by the Machdar Motor sports Company and reports say that the star cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has bought 26% percent stake of the series. Popular celebrities of India have now turned their attention to this highly lucrative Indian Racing League. Some of the hot stars and business people investing in this series prominently include Shah Rukh Khan, Juhi Chawla and Jai Mehta (for the team Mumbai), Telugu superstar Nagarjuna and N Prasad (for the Hyderabad team), Mohit Burman from the Dabur family (for the Delhi team), SG Srinivas (for the team Chennai), Yuvraj Singh (for the Chandigarh team) and Sourav Ganguly (for the Kolkata team). The series with 14 races on the whole will run from January 8, 2012 to February 12, 2012.

Cricket is a well known game and has attracted most people in India of almost all age groups either poor or rich, in both urban and rural areas. People play hours of cricket with a single bat and ball. Hence success of cricket and IPL in India has faced no problems. On the other hand, racing has not been much popular and also playing it is considered to be most expensive. Car racing and Formula One games are reached by people of rich communities.

So, there are some great questions lying in front –

Will the i1 super series gain popularity in India?
Will the investors gain from the Racing League?
Will the surplus amount of money invested help increase Indian revenue?

News Chips is also eager to know the answers of these questions.

The Duladeo Temple, Khajuraho

This is my first post about tourism. India is an amazing traditional country storing in itself lot of antique, historical, archaeological heritage in it. I have enjoyed quite a lot of places in India. I would like to share some of them through News Chips. Hope you may like them.

The Duladeo Temple, Khajuraho

The sculptural art of Indian temples are truly the most amazing feature to be admired. Khajuraho temples treasures some exceptional sculptures in it. The international tourists who come to India to admire the beauty of Taj Mahal also visit these magnificent Khajuraho temples.

The Duladeo temple in Khajuraho district of Madhya Pradhesh is an excellent example of Indian ancient architecture. The temple is built by King Madanavarman of the Chandel dynasty on the banks of the Khudar river around 1130 A. D. The exterior walls of the temple are completely filled with well refined erotic poses of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The jawdroppping sculptures on the walls and the roof of the temple attracts lots of people to the place.

The villagers depend on their farms and tourists for their income. The village remains untouched by modern culture and vehicles. Thus the tourists usually use bicycles to visit places around the temple. The virgin nature of the people and the fresh new atmosphere are really cherishable.

Information displayed by the Indian Tourism Board about the temple :
"Dedicated to Lord Shiva, Temple faces east and consists of a sanctum without ambulatory, vestibule, Mahamandapa and an entrance porch. The Sikhara is clustered around by three rows of minor Sikhara, its Mahamandapa shows some peculiarities of design and decoration. The Mahamandapa is octagonal showing twenty apsaras bracket which are elaborately crowned and heavily ornamented. The flying Vidyadharas, Apsaras and other sculptures are generally stereo typed and over burdened with ornamentation in many cases. Some of sculptures such as Ashtavasu figures which are invariably depicted with a crocodile mount in place of the bull, and the two Dikpalas, Yama and Nairiti wear the raised curls in a stylized fan shape are note-worthy. The original temple can be dated to the early half of the 12th century A.D. and it has been extensively repaired and restored in a later date."
