The exciting three days of the 17th Formula One season kick starts on the auspicious day today, the October 28, 2011. Millions and millions of electrifying hearts were longing to watch the numerous swift cars flying at the race tracks of Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
India proudly hosts its first-ever Formula One Championship at this gigantic venue. The Buddh International Circuit, just 24 km from New Delhi is capable of accommodating nearly over 1,20,000 international fans of the glitzy event. The 5.141 kilometre track has spread across an area of 875 acres. The F1 speed cars will rapidly lap through 16 largely medium speed corners of the track 60 times thus covering the total distance of about 308.4 kilometres.
The practice events were organized on 28th and 29th of October and the exciting final race fires the tracks of Noida by 3 pm on Sunday, the 30th of October 2011.
The 12 teams participating in this thrilling championship 2011 are Red Bull-Renault, McLaren-Mercedes, Ferrari, Mercedes, Renault, Williams-Cosworth, ForceIndia-Mercedes, Sauber-Ferrari, Toro Rosso-Ferrari, Lotus-Renault, HRT-Cosworth and Virgin-Cosworth. As ever, team 13 and car numbered 13 will never appear in this season also :)
